You are invited to join Ed on Thursday 16th July at St Mary’s Fordingbridge as part of A Summer of Music @ St Mary’s, Fordingbridge. Arrive anytime from 7pm until about 8:30pm. It will be a relaxed and informal setting. Tickets are £7.50 on the door and light refreshments are available throughout. Look forward to seeing you there!

John Challenger
International concert organist and Assistant Director of Music at Salisbury Cathedral, John will be wowing us with his performance of notable favourites!

More about John
John Challenger has been Assistant Director of Music at Salisbury Cathedral since September 2012, where he accompanies the Cathedral’s liturgy on the great Father Willis Organ. He received his musical education as a chorister at Hereford Cathedral under Dr Roy Massey and Geraint Bowen, and as an Organ Scholar at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, and St John’s College, Cambridge; at St John’s, under the directorship of Andrew Nethsingha, he played the organ for services, concerts, recordings, broadcasts, tours, and four critically-acclaimed recordings on the Chandos label. He studied the organ with David Briggs, Jeremy Filsell, Mark Williams, and the late David Sanger, and obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Organists in 2008. In addition to his duties at the Cathedral, John is active as an organ teacher and recitalist.

Musicians of St Mary’s Church
Our "home team" of musicians will bring their talents to you in a varied programme. Organ and piano solos and duets from Katie Ricketts, and resident organists Hazel Ricketts and Tim Ruffer. Our choir members will also bring their music making talents to this concert.
Tea and cakes will be provided!
Foresters Brass
Foresters Brass is a 13 piece ensemble featuring a full array of brass instruments along with a Double Bass and Electric Bass. We have a wide and varied repertoire of music covering all genres and eras from traditional brass band classics to modern pop music. Drawn from players across the East Midlands, Foresters Brass prides itself in the high quality of its playing and standards of performance. If you like the sound of Brass then you’re in for a treat!

Tamas Matimba
We’re really pleased to welcome Tamas to St. Mary’s for what is set to be a fantastic piano concert! He will be performing a series of romantic piano music including works by Schumann and Chopin.
