St Mary’s Fordingbridge Choir
St Mary’s Church Choir
Being a Chorister at St Mary’s will bring many benefits to your child as a result of the commitment and time given. It is widely considered that singing in a choir improves well-being, self confidence and teamwork as well as providing a fine introduction to a rich variety of music in a friendly and disciplined environment. Choristers can be boys or girls and normally begin around the age of 7 years.
The Choristers at St Mary’s are also offered additional vocal and general music tuition following the ‘Voice for Life’ training scheme from the Royal School of Church Music, equivalent to your child having extra music lessons for free.
During term time:-
Fridays: Voice for Life 6.00 – 6.30pm
Rehearsal 6.30 – 7.45pm
Sundays: Rehearsal 9.30am
Service starts at 10:00am
(finishing about 11:00am)
There are sometimes weddings on a Saturday at which Choristers are requested to sing and for which they receive an extra payment.
Other commitments, which may involve a Sunday evening are called for at important times of the Church year.
If you would like to know more about the choir please contact the Church Office.
