Julian Sims
Deacon
Julian was ordained Deacon in June 2026, having spent two years as a Context Based Learner at Trinity College, Bristol, and is one of our Assistant Curates, training in the parish.
In 2025 he retired after 40 years working in the accountancy and tax profession but continues as a part-time member of the judiciary serving in the Tax Tribunal.
Having moved into Hyde as a child in 1971 he has served in many roles in the Parish, particularly at Hyde, including as churchwarden.
His wife Carol was born in the village and as of September 2026 both their daughters are at university. He continues his involvement in the local community beyond the church in many ways including as President of Hyde Cricket Club (now rarely playing) and a governor of the Fordingbridge Infant and Junior School Federation. Further afield he volunteers with the Chaplaincy team at Salisbury District Hospital.
