Heather Clark
Churchwarden - Hyde
Heather was born in the New Forest (Bransgore) more years ago than she will admit. Her first job in London was with the, then, Board of Trade. While living and working in London she worshipped at St Paul’s, Onslow Square where she met her husband, Peter. They moved to Purley where they had two children, worshipped at Christchurch, where they ran a youth club for eight years and Heather began a second career in teaching – finishing as a headteacher in Sutton.
When they both retired, Heather and Peter decided to move and found this wonderful village in the New Forest – Frogham. The community was hugely welcoming as was the local church family and this has been a very happy move into retirement (what retirement?). Heather was vice-chair of Governors at Hyde School for over ten years and also chaired Youth Justice Panels in Southampton for several years. She is a lay worship leader and has been a churchwarden for eleven years, with a break of eighteen months – all in all her granddaughter doesn’t believe the retirement story at all! Two delightful grandchildren, now both in their teens, take up any spare time.
